Riccardo Gileno è un cantautore di Trieste, cresce in una famiglia dove la musica è presenza costante, poi, nel corso delle scuole medie, inizia a documentarsi ascoltando di tutto, collezionando cd e vinili. L'incontro con il primo strumento è avvenuto solo alla fine delle scuole superiori. Ma prima di tutto si sente cantante: la chitarra lo aiuta principalmente a scrivere.
"Raramente scrivo di ciò che non mi è successo. Spesso tuttavia è limitante scrivere solo di te, per questo motivo ultimamente cerco anche l'invenzione, la storia, anche se la produzione narrativa è molto difficile".
Il brano che porta a InSoffitta è uno degli ultimi scritti, e si ricollega a questa idea del racconto di un personaggio di fantasia, narrando delle diverse fasi della vita di una ragazzina dalla fanciullezza fino alla soglia dei trent'anni.
