From the USA TODAY NETWORK and YouTube, it’s VRtually There, a weekly adventure with three cool VR experiences.

Take a roller coaster thrill ride through time in VR!

Just how much have roller coasters changed over the years? Why not hop on a roller coaster time machine and take a tour of thrill-ride history at Six Flags Over Georgia in Atlanta.

From the clackity terror of wooden tracks to the smooth flow of steel, from inverted coasters to VR headsets enhancing the thrill, amusement parks have upped their roller coaster game considerably over the years.

Go VR canyoneering through stunning Arizona desert!

On weekdays, David Wallace is a photojournalist for the USA TODAY NETWORK. But on the weekends, he’s an explorer. His hobby is one that takes him places most people never get to see: canyoneering.

Thousands of canyons cut through the sunburned landscape of the Arizona desert, and they’re ripe for exploration. Wallace and his canyoneering buddies Pat Winstanly and Susan Harnage relish the physical and mental challenge of exploring the Superstition Mountains. “It requires me to focus my mind, dig deep down inside to be able to hang on to the rock, navigate the terrain, to be able to trust my friends,” says Harnage.

The benefits are almost spiritual. “Water carved out this place over millions of years,” Wallace says. “Being inside these sculpted chambers, cut off from the outside world, has helped me discover myself.”

They get to see parts of the world – and enjoy spectacular views – most people never get to experience. Check out the sights they’re rewarded with after nine hours, 10 rappels and baths in freezing water. It’s pretty spectacular.

Float with sea turtles in perfect tranquility – and in VR!

Sea turtles aren’t just beautiful creatures – they’re history. Sea turtles have existed for 150 million years; to give you some perspective, dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. And they’re worth keeping around for 150 million years more.

They float tranquilly in turquoise waters, but only one in 1,000 turtle hatchlings reaches adulthood. Of the seven species of sea turtles, six are now threatened or endangered, mostly due to human activity or habitat loss.

For now, enjoy first-hand view of the life of sea turtles off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii and the Galapagos Islands, and find your Zen.

Take a breath. Take it in. And don’t forget to look around!
