Watch video in VR

Come to Cesar Chavez elementary school on Folsom Street and enter a world where  the arts, music and dance come together to create Loco Bloco… a youth and family organization focused on the development of children and youth through exploration of the arts. Be with Ynessa Flores-Vega and Evan Reepen… two Loco Bloco long-time participants (once students, now teachers) and learn about how their comparsa (“group”) is an integral part of the community.  Celebrating 23 years of service in San Francisco, Loco Bloco is deeply embedded in the community life of the City and is known for using music, dance, drumming, stilt-walking and theater to influence social/political change on behalf of under-represented peoples in neighborhoods. Rather than follow the prescribed path for arts organizations, Loco Bloco is celebrated for working with youth of all experiences and providing a platform for their expression.
