The Cheile Gradistei Winter Triathlon World Championships 2018 has begun and they are hosted for the first time ever in Romania. Hundreds of athletes from tens of countries were at the start line of the Winter Triathlon World Championships. During a Winter Triathlon challenge, one of the newest events on the ITU calendar, elite athletes run in the snow for 8 kilometers, ride a mountain bike for 14 kilometers in the snow and do another 12 kilometers of cross-country skiing. The competition includes the following categories: Elite, U32, Junior, Paratriathlon and Age Group.

La Cheile Grădiștei au început Campionatele Mondiale de Winter Triathlon, găzduite în premieră de România. Sute de sportivi din zeci de țări au luat startul Campionatelor Mondiale de Winter Triatlon. În cadrul unui concurs de Winter Triathlon, unul dintre cele mai noi evenimente din calendarul ITU, sportivii de elită aleargă 8 km pe zăpadă, parcurg 14 km de Mountain Bike tot pe zăpadă și fac 12 km de schi fond. Competiția include categoriile Elite, U23, junior, Paratriathlon si Age Group.
