Reel FX VR built an immersive, 360° narrative experience for Lionsgate Entertainment’s latest Hunger Games release in fall of 2015. It explores key moments from Katniss’ journey across all four films. Built for the Samsung Gear VR platform initially (with a secondary Oculus Rift build), the experience debuted exclusively on the Milk VR platform. A unique blend of traditional long form and short form Reel FX VFX and CG artists teamed up with Unreal developers with gaming backgrounds to craft an experience that felt like a “mini-film” rather than a game, and featured complex transitions, detailed environments and characters from the beloved franchise.
