These 360 stereoscopic videos highlight five normal and "King" high tides at selected beaches in Los Angeles. King Tides occur during the winter and summer solstice, when the sun, moon and earth are perfectly aligned - leading to the highest high tides of the year. The normal high tides show the water on the beach where we normally see it. The King Tides give us a glimpse into the future. Where water is for just a few hours 6 - 8 times a year today during King Tides is where our future beach will be with sea level rise. These videos were shot with support from the Google Jump VR and Daydream Impact programs at Google, using the Odyssey camera. This project is a collaboration among the US Geological Survey, Meta Enterprises and Google VR.
